Connection Setup on a D-Link Router

Note: Before proceeding with this setup, ensure your Nexicom equipment is connected to the Internet or WAN port on your D-Link router via an Ethernet cord. Also ensure that your computer is connected to your D-Link router (preferably by an Ethernet cord).


1. Open your Internet browser.

Note: Internet Explorer was used for the purposes of this instructional document but any web browser will work (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, etc.)


2. In the address bar, type and press Enter.

Note: is the most common address for D-Link routers, if this does not work consult your router documentation to find the proper address.


3. Select Admin from the drop down menu labeled User Name, leave the Password field blank, and click the Log In button.

Note: This is the default user name and password for most D-Link routers, if this password does not work please consult your router documentation to find the proper information.


4. Click on the button labeled Manual Internet Connection Setup.


5. Select PPPoE (Username / Password) from the drop down menu labeled My Internet Connection is.


6. Fill in the fields with the corresponding information:

  • Address Mode – Dynamic IP
  • Username – Your full Nexicom username (must end with
  • Password – Your Nexicom password
  • Verify Password – Your Nexicom Password (this must match what you typed in the password field above)
  • Service Name – Leave this field blank
  • Reconnect Mode – Always on


7. Click the Save Settings button at the top of the page.

This will reboot the router and apply the current changes that were made. After the router finishes rebooting, you should be connected to the internet.


Note: The above walkthrough is for a basic Internet connection setup on a D-Link router. This will not set up or secure your wireless connection. The screens above may differ from the screens you see depending on the model of D-Link router you have.
